Sound to Silence
Then he stood and cried out to the armies of Israel, and said to them, "Why have you come out to line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and you the servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me. If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants.".... And the Philistine said, "I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together." When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.(1 Samuel 17:8-11)

Silence is stronger than Sound
Jesus is the Word. However, he was silent for 30 years but lived out the Word. As he was teaching for the last 3 years of his life, he still lived out the Word daily. If we show the Word through our daily life, we don't need to say a lot. If there are many words, it may mean there is less life. Those who are familiar with sound, they need louder sound in order to be more effective. So they have to make a louder voice, which is becoming violent and disastrous, until they are destroyed.
The sound respond to the sound and the Silent respond to the silence
King Saul chose the strong and valiant men but David was chosen by the hopeless and the helpless. Although Saul's men were excellent, they all responded to the sound of Goliath and were frightened and fled because they had responded to the sweet sound of King Saul's promises. However, those who were in distress, in debt, and discontented chose David who was rejected, and many of them became fearless warriors who didn't say a lot but showed their courage that broke through the enemy's camp in order to bring water.
David had many private battles with animals and intimate walks with God in the wilderness before the public battle and public walk in front of people. So he wasn't shaken at all in the public battle, instead he despised Goliath. However, King Saul had not had this kind of private walk nor battle experience, so he couldn't call on God and was frightened in the public battle. Public battles take place in the loud shout and brilliant light of man, but private battles take place in the silence and darkness of God; when nobody is there.
A private lesson is very specific but a public lesson isn't. A public lesson is much cheaper than a private one, so many people go to church meetings or conferences rather than privately sitting at His feet. Jesus has paid the most expensive private lesson fee for us and opened the Holy of the Holy place widely, but we don't spend time with him everyday privately. If we don't pay the lesson fee and someone pays for us instead, often we are not enthusiastic to learn. We need to appreciate how much he has paid and spend time in the private lessons with him in the silence and darkness before moving into the public places. Otherwise we probably will face a terrible end, like King Saul who was chosen but turned down by God after all.
[ The Forge Youth School of Faith ]
7 Korean young people and a teacher have been with us nearly 6 weeks in Wales. God has been challenging and encouraging in various ways; meditating and sharing the word of God, eating and meeting, resting and trusting, receiving and releasing, praying and fasting, worshipping and interceding, laughing and weeping, etc.. They have been growing not only physically but also spiritually. Sometimes it is tearful and sometimes joyful but everyday is wonderful. God is forging not only them but also us. We are praying that Jewish youth and other youth may come in to this Forge journey for the Kingdom's purpose. They are leaving Wales on 7th February for London, Israel and Korea, but a couple of people will stay with us a bit more. Thank you so much for your prayers and support in many ways; cooking, sharing, driving, playing and praying, etc..

I have a couple of local friends whom I met in the market place. One of them wanted me to marry him and his fiancée. They both are from Romania and are now Christians. We offered our house for their wedding ceremony on 27th January at 5pm. Everybody participated and we transformed our house into a beautiful wedding hall and made lovely food as well. One of our sisters prepared this wedding with all her heart as if it was her own wedding and the Heavenly Wedding. It was joyful and tearful. As the best-man was speaking, he wept for the overwhelming love and grace of God. |
Yohan is going to a nursery twice a week and turned 2 years old on 28th January, which was our 8th wedding anniversary too. He continues to be full of energy and loves all the attention from our Korean residents. He sings along loudly to all the songs. Noah is going to be 7 years old on 17th February. He is progressing well at school and in piano lessons, he enjoyed playing carols for us at Christmas. He has restarted swimming too, which he loves. Bridget is doing well; organising our rota, meal menu, looking after kids, etc. |
[ The Forge School of Faith – IV ]
God has called us to redeem the inheritance of Rees Howells the intercessor. We started this journey January 2009 and the 1st School of Faith was December 2012 for 2 weeks, the 2nd School of Faith was April and May 2013 for 4 weeks, and the 3rd School of Faith was November 2013. God has envisioned, encouraged, challenged, healed and united us as the family of God. We foretasted a little of his full picture of a movement with a lifestyle of community, worship, intercession and mission; an exciting opportunity! (These are some of us, testimonies video clips, the second, the third) Who: Whoever wants to be part of laying the faith foundation to redeem and restore the spiritual inheritance of Rees Howells. (If you are a couple, you may not have your own room. It will depend on availability of accommodation ) Contacts: Qday LEE

[ Unfinished Race with Rees Howells ] |
On Sunday 31st March 2013, I went to Penllergaer to walk with God. While I was walking, I heard, “Go back to the beginning!” This voice was lingering nearly all day. A few days previously, I had got a phone call from a friend of mine in Swansea. He was organising an Easter Egg Hunt for children on Monday 1st April and he wanted me to bring over my son Noah and family to Swansea on BCW site. I reluctantly went and found that Derwen Fawr house was opened.
