 Settlers to Pioneers
(The Forge Newsletter_September & October_2014)

Then they called Rebekah and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" And she said, "I will go." So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham's servant and his men. And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: "Our sister, may you become the mother of thousands of ten thousands; and may your descendants possess the gates of those who hate them." (Genesis 24:58-60)

“Will you go with this man?” Rebekah said, “I will go!” She didn't know anything about her future husband; his appearance, character, height, weight, job, income, career, hobby, etc. and she didn't know anything about the land she was going to either. Everything was uncertain but she stepped out into the journey in trusting the presence of Abraham's servant. She was a settler in Haran but now she is becoming a pioneer who steps into an uncertain world by faith because of her deep longing of love. (She must have been longing for her bridegroom.)

1. The step of faith transformed her identity and destiny
Rebekah has been a daughter of Bethuel while single but her status or identity is going to be changed to the wife of Isaac. And she has been a part of her father's house but now she is forming her own family. She could have stayed in Haran whether single or even married. If she stayed at home, her life would be easier and happier. Everything was certain, routine and predictable, but now everything is uncertain. However, if she stayed there, she would not be found in the destiny of God in eternity.

2. Temporary ugly company leads to eternal fine destiny
Rebekah is going with the old man but she is not going to live with him. He is only leading her to her future husband and her destiny. Sometimes God sends an old man or famine or failure to go with me. It might be unpleasant and unhappy, but it is temporary and he is leading me to my eternal destiny.

3. A new journey with an old friend
Everything (land, people, relationship, circumstance) is uncertain for pioneers because it is new. So pioneers might be worried or afraid of the uncertain future, and lonely because the majority of people are settlers. But there is a new friend like Abraham's old servant who knows the way well to go and there is an old friend like Rebekah's nurse who knows me well. The Holy Spirit is like Abraham's old servant and like Rebekah's old nurse who knows me well before the creation of the world to eternity and knows the way well from the time to eternity.

4. Keeping my gate or possessing enemy's gates
Rebekah was blessed by her family prophetically not only to multiply the number of her descendants but also for them to be warriors to possess the gates of their enemies. If Rebekah stayed as a settler at home, she would have kept her own door or gate. But she left her comfort-zone as a pioneer through the door of her father's house and the gate of her city by faith. Therefore her seed (Jesus) has possessed the gate of the enemy with unfailing love through the Cross at Calvary.

Do I desperately want to live at home as a settler to keep my own gate from my enemy or deliberately to leave as a pioneer to possess the gates of those of who hate me with unfailing love? When we settle in the Everlasting Rock Jesus, we become the most radical pioneers. We are settlers in Him but at the same time we are pioneers in the processes here on earth to fulfil his ultimate purpose.

[ The Most Hostile Country but the Most Hospitable People ]
Last year in April, God put in my heart an intercession for a country in the Middle East. I carried it for a few months, then he stopped me praying for the country. He told me to go now to the country with His love. We have heard of the hostility of this country towards Israel and other countries. We have already been there three times, although there were many challenges; visas, finances, health, etc. and God has opened doors of hearts and houses, also gates of different countries. The peoples are so hospitable and desperate for the truth and love. We met this time a person who is very near to Jesus. It is great to settle down at home for a while but we are called to pioneer here on earth with his love and good news.

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)

[ News Update ]

1. The House Purchase Completed
Last December God told me that we needed to find a 7 bedroom house to rent for people who were coming. My wife found a house in March for sale but not for rent. The landlady, unbelievably, allowed us to move in on 30^th June and they moved out a week later. The actual purchase was completed on 30^th September. It took three months and was a very interesting journey of faith. We held the 5^th Forge School of Faith in the house. It was a very different school from previous schools in various ways. Thank you again to a couple of people who greatly encouraged and confirmed the 7 bedroom house rent and walked by faith to buy the house to rent out to us cheaper than normal rate. We all worked together to show the faith of God.

2. The 5^th Forge School of Faith
We had the School for 2 weeks in Wales and 3 weeks in the Middle East. It was a really exciting time because we extended the length of time, budget and territories. We travelled to 4 different countries and met people whom we had met before and new faces too. It was such a prophetic journey. We had a lady in our group who wasn't well enough to travel physically but it was clear that God wanted us to take her. So I had to slow down our pace and to be milder than before, but we travelled further distance.

[1] Refused visas but received visas: Two of us were refused when we applied for the Middle Eastern country's visa in Turkey because we were visiting again within a year after the last visit. It was a really unexpected situation. I didn't know what to do, so I prayed and thought about another plan inwardly for a couple of minutes because we had already bought our return flight tickets. I asked a question, then the officer phoned somewhere, after that she accepted our passports. I couldn't believe it.

[2] The Feast of Tabernacles with Jews in Russia: We met jewish people in Sochi in Russia and they were keeping the Feast of Tabernacles, and we were welcomed to have a meal under the palm branch tabernacle, although we had not been welcome when we had visited three days before. One morning God told us to visit again the Jewish community and they would welcome us and the leader's wife's name would be Hannah. As God told us they really welcomed us and her name is Hannah.

[3] Putin and Vice-Presidents in Sochi: When we were in Sochi, one day Putin came to see the Fomula-1 Race and separately the Russian Vice-President and Chinese Vice-President had a commercial trade meeting. We had arrived in Sochi before Putin and the Vice-Presidents came. Although we didn't know their schedules, I believed that God used us to pray and to prepare for his Kingdom's advance before the nation of Russia and China move. Because two of us strongly felt that God wanted us to go to Russia this time and we had been praying for Sochi for a few months.

[4] Travelling from Sochi to Georgia: 2 days journey: We took a night train and another train and a very basic hotel next to the train station in Vladikavkaz. We met a Russian angel who was a minibus driver. He stopped driving his public bus service and phoned his wife who speaks English well to translate for us and took me and another lady to a bus station without charging. We were a bit over charged hiring two taxies to travel to Georgia but it was a fantastic view over the mountains. We praised God who created it. We wanted to stay in a different hostel from last time but our taxi driver led us to our old hostel. That's pretty amazing because he didn't know where to take us. We had great fellowship with the hostel owner and his wife. They have been married for 8 years but no baby yet. When we offered our prayer, they gladly accepted it. I am really looking forward to seeing them again next time.

[5] Healing the water in an old well in Georgia: Last time we were in Georgia, we saw a ruined synagogue in the capital city. This time they have been renovating the synagogue as a museum and it has been nearly completed beautifully. I sensed that this is a sign for the last days: God would renew and restore the old ruins. One day we visited Mtskheta: 3^rd - 5^th century the capital of Georgian kingdom and the centre of ancient christianity, also there is the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox Church. I saw a well and its mouth was covered with glass. I was able to see the waters. The room where the well is decorated with paintings of Elijah and Elisha's stories. I was wondering why, and God reminded me of the healing of the water in Jericho by Elisha. We went out and got some salt from a local bakery and prophetically threw it into the well to restore that place as a source of living waters of faith.

[6] Travelling from Georgia to E-country in the Middle East: It was a 26 hours bus journey. We met a lady in the bus. She spoke English very well and helped us, when we needed some communication with drivers or other passengers. She became really friendly and invited us to her house in the capital city of E-country. I noticed that her name shows Christian back ground. We visited her family on the last day of our journey. They are so kind and hospitable. We all took showers and had a big breakfast, lunch and dinner with a huge rice-cake and Kebab. We were physically hungry but she was spiritually so hungry. She asked a lot of questions and she is very near to him.

[7] Found the King Cyrus' decree for rebuilding at Jerusalem: We visited Hamadan where there tombs of Esther and Mordecai are. I visited the city before but I didn't realise that its ancient name was Ecbatana (Achmetha in the Bible; Nehemiah 6:2) where king Cyrus' decree was found by king Darius. The Persian king Cyrus issued a decree for the Jews to go back to Jerusalem to rebuild the House of God from captivity. (Ezra 1:1-3, Isaiah 44:28, 45:1-3, 2Chronicles 36:23). And a number of people went back to Jerusalem and started rebuilding the House of God but enemies stopped them. Then 9 years later the Persian king Darius searched and found king Cyrus' decree at Ecbatana (Ezra 5:17, 6:1-3). I was so excited and was in tears because I sensed that God wanted to do something prophetically, so that His decree may be found and redeclared to rebuild the House of God at Jerusalem. Also in Susa palace, God wanted us to write a new decree prophetically like Mordecai wrote them for His people, after Haman's decree had been sent out to annihilate Jews. So I redeclared the rebuilding of the House of God at Jerusalem and the rescuing of Jewish people from the spirit of Haman's annihilation.

[8] He sent angel after angels but we were worried: We arrived at night in a big city in E-country and we didn't have their language. It was very difficult for us to find out the right information for transportation and accommodation. Our group leader went to the Information centre to try to get some help but she was struggling for language. But suddenly one local young guy, who was sitting chair next to us, asked me whether we need accommodation with sign language. But he didn't look like a professional, rather very genuine and innocent. He made a couple of calls, then he offered accommodation. Our group leader decided to follow him. He took us for an hours taxi journey but he was a genuine angel of God. He paid our two taxi fares and provided accommodation and food without any charge. We had great fellowship together with sign language. His name is M*****. I really want to see him again.

[9] Weaker group but Extending larger Territories: We travelled to 4 different countries for 21days with £500 including transport, accommodation and food. Especially we explored new unknown territories for us. It was an exciting journey but at the same time we were nervous because of security, budget, health, language, etc.. We had smart-phone map and navigation but it wasn't good enough. However we stepped out into unknown territories.

[ Prayer & Intercession ]

1. IS(Islamic State) militant are drawing new map in the Middle East with the spirit of death: We haven't touched physically the areas where IS has been drawing a new map with the spirit of death. But we have flown, driven, and walked the areas where Babylonians and Persians reigned. God told me that as we are walking and moving by faith, he is drawing a new map of the Kingdom of God. We have seen the signs of new Esther, Mordecai, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah, Nehemiah etc. rising where they reigned on the past. IS invading the Middle East with the spirit of death but we are invading with the spirit of life and love.

2. Pray for re-visiting E-country: At least one of us wants to visit again the E-country to spend time with the lady who is really hungry. Please pray for visa, finance, wisdom, etc..

3. Pray for Longer-Term Visa: One lady was held at the UK Immigration when we were returning this time because she visited the UK 4 times within 4 months. The officers were suspicious of her. They were going to deport her but kindly gave her 10 days. People would like to come to know God and themselves in order to prepare themselves to serve here and to go wherever God sends them. At the moment there is no way to invite people longer-term. Please pray for it.

4. Pray for Messianic Jewish young people into the Forge Fire: God is bringing a much bigger picture of this Forge vision. I cannot perceive right now but I can sense it. God has been preparing people as blacksmiths in the Forge for the next movement of God. God has been healing people physically, spiritually and emotionally and equipping people. Please pray that Messianic Jewish young people may be released into the Forge fire in Wales and beyond for the next movement of God.

[ Unfinished Race with Rees Howells ]
Rees Howells purchased a fourth property, which is called Penllergaer, for Jewish children. He planned to bring at least 1000 Jewish children from Europe to the UK but he managed to bring only 12 children because the Second World War began. On Friday 21st September, a Korean lady and Mathew Toller, a Messianic Jewish Rabbi wanted to visit the BCW sites. Three of us went and walked on Glenderwen, Derwen Fawr, Sketty Isaf and Penllergaer. As we got to Penllergaer waterfall, Mathew asked me about “The Forge” vision, which is raising up spiritual blacksmiths through setting up a centre for worship, intercession, mission and to raise up the next generation and to work for Jewish people.

At that point Mathew told me that Jewish people need to come to 'The Forge' to be equipped as missionaries and should go out to the nations of the world again. I really felt and prayed that is what Rees Howells left and we need to pick up. The Jews who will come might be not only from the USA and Europe but also from Israel, etc. It is very interesting because we didn't plan to go there at all on that day and the Jewish connection reopened up in our prayers in that place where Rees Howells prayed and prepared.

When I was in Israel in October 2012, God spoke to me again about Jewish missionary training in Wales. On 7th October, when I woke up at about 6 am, I felt God wanted me to go up to the Temple Mount. When I was in a queue and also on the Temple Mount, God spoke to me again about the Jewish missionary training. I came down to the Western Wall. As I touched the wall, he spoke to me again. So I told God, “I don't know what to do and how to do it although you are saying to me.” Then he told me, “I have called you because you don't know and you cannot do it with your own ability.” I wept!

We went to Penllergaer this time during the Forge School on 22nd March 2014 and God impressed some of us strongly. This is the place where we need to create or bring down His story. It doesn't mean the physical land but spiritual ground where Rees Howells prayed and prepared for Jewish children. God doesn't want us to walk on the ruined places only but excavate to redeem and restore the longing of God. Still we don't know how to do it but we know that God wants to raise his army, Jews and Gentiles, in these last days for the harvest fields. God already has done it, is doing it, and is looking for someone who wants to do together with him.

[ Place All on the Altar! ]
On Sunday 31st March 2013, I went to Penllergaer to walk with God. While I was walking, I heard, “Go back to the beginning!” This voice was lingering nearly all day. A few days previously, I had got a phone call from a friend of mine in Swansea. He was organising an Easter Egg Hunt for children on Monday 1st April and he wanted me to bring over my son Noah and family to Swansea on BCW(Bible College of Wales) site. I reluctantly went and found that Derwen Fawr house was opened.

Later on I called my younger son Yohan to come to the Blue Room with me because his conception and birth are deeply related to our journey of faith. I took a couple of photos of him in the room and I saw a card on the top of fire place. As soon as I looked at it, God spoke to me loudly and firmly. “Place All on the Altar!” On that card there were a few Bible scriptures and this hand writing. Only this sentence jumped out to me and convicted me. Later on I found that a lady sent this card last November from Penllergaer area. Isn't it interesting? One day I heard “Go back to the Beginning!” and the next day “Place All on the Altar!”

In January 2009, our family started going to the BCW sites every Sunday according to God's conviction, that he wanted us to redeem and restore the SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE of Rees Howells. Then the BCW sites were closed down and the college moved to England in July 2009. From that point I felt that God wanted us to redeem and restore the PHYSICAL PROPERTIES too, as part of the inheritance. Thankfully one of these has now been purchased and is being restored by Cornerstone Community Church, Singapore. So “Go back to the beginning” might mean that this journey is to redeem and restore the spiritual inheritance of Rees Howells only. Although I still don't know a lot of things, what I know is that I have to place all on the altar and I have placed BCW sites on the altar. Of course it was so hard for me but obedience is better than sacrifice.

It looks like my 4 years and 4 months intercessory journey with BCW sites has come to an end, although we are still pursuing Rees Howells spiritual inheritance and the picking up the baton of equipping Jews and Gentiles for the last harvest fields. But we are pursuing the redeeming of his spiritual inheritance through the Forge vision.
