Ask to Answer
(The Forge Newsletter_June_2013)
God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." … Then He said, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you." …. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." Then he said, "Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" (Genesis 22:1-2, 7)
1. We are the answer to what we are asking for
Often we don't know we are the answer to what we are questioning, like Isaac; “ Where is the lamb?” When they were climbing mount Moriah, they had the fire and the wood but didn't have the lamb for a burnt offering. Because Abraham hadn't told his son who was going to be killed. Until we hear from our Father, we often don't know we are the answer for the sacrifice. When we are bound and offered on the alter, then we realise that I am the lamb. But Jesus knew that he was going to be the Lamb to be sacrificed on the Cross because he discussed with his father and he offered himself.
2. As Abraham was climbing with his son, God was climbing with his Son on the other side
Before God told Abraham, "Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering" God already took his only Son Jesus whom he loved, and climbed up on the other Moriah: Calvary. Later Abraham saw the ram behind him caught in a thicket. God always prepares the way ahead of us, even before the creation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4, 2Timothy 1:9) But unless we take an action towards the mountain and put ourselves as a lamb on the altar, we will not see the Lamb who was sacrificed on the Cross, and payed the price and finished all.
3. Noah offered himself on the altar as he sacrificed animals
When Noah came out of the ark, he built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a restful (ניחוח ; restful, pleasant, delight ← its root word is Noah נוּח ; rest) aroma. Why did Noah offer the burnt offerings? Does God like BBQ smell? It was a huge number of clean animals and birds; every clean animal and every clean bird. It was miracle. The animals and birds were waiting for their death in a long queue. God kept the animals and birds in the queue. Also it wasn't an easy job for Noah because of the amount of sacrifices, fire, wood, and time. But Noah(rest) did it, just as he built the enormous ark. God was pleased with the restful aroma. Although Noah didn't place his physical body on the altar, he had placed his whole life as a living sacrifice. So God smelled the restful (smell of Noah) aroma.
4. As the flood dried up, the streams of blood started
The FLOOD was dried up, but now the streams of BLOOD started flowing down over the ground(אדמה ; soil, from its general redness; אדמ Adam). It looks like God redeemed his original SOIL(אדמה), MAN(אדמ ; Adam = to show blood in the face, flush, ruddy) and his PURPOSE through the FLOOD of waters and the BLOOD of every clean animal and clean bird. Noah's sacrifice pointed to Jesus as he hung on the cross, his face and body red with his blood. That blood flowed out from Calvary, making streams to reach and redeem all the nations.
Then the LORD said in His heart, "I will never again curse the ground(אדמה) for man's(אדמ) sake, although the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. ..... So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. (Genesis 8:21, 9:1).
God blessed the REST (Noah) and its outcomes (his sons), not the WORK. Our works should come out of REST.
On Sunday 31st March 2013, I went to Penllergaer to walk with God. While I was walking, I heard, “Go back to the beginning!” This voice was lingering nearly all day. A few days previously, I had got a phone call from a friend of mine in Swansea. He was organising an Easter Egg Hunt for children on Monday 1st April and he wanted me to bring over my son Noah and family to Swansea on BCW site. I reluctantly went and found that Derwen Fawr house was opened. Later on I called my younger son Yohan to come to the Blue Room with me because his conception and birth are deeply related to our journey of faith. I took a couple of photos of him in the room and I saw a card on the top of fire place. As soon as I looked at it, God spoke to me loudly and firmly. “Place All on the Altar!” On that card there were a few Bible scriptures and this hand writing. Only this sentence jumped out to me and convicted me. Later on I found that a lady sent this card last November from Penllergaer area. Isn't it interesting? One day I heard “Go back to the Beginning!” and the next day “Place All on the Altar!” In January 2009, our family started going to the BCW sites every Sunday according to God's conviction, that he wanted us to redeem and restore the SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE of Rees Howells. Then the BCW sites were closed down and the college moved to England in July 2009. From that point I felt that God wanted us to redeem and restore the PHYSICAL PROPERTIES too, as part of the inheritance. Thankfully one of these has now been purchased and is being restored by Cornerstone Community Church, Singapore. So “Go back to the beginning” might mean that this journey is to redeem and restore the spiritual inheritance of Rees Howells only. Although I still don't know a lot of things, what I know is that I have to place all on the altar and I have placed BCW sites on the altar. Of course it was so hard for me but obedience is better than sacrifice. It looks like my 4 years and 4 months intercessory journey with BCW sites has come to an end, although we are still pursuing Rees Howells spiritual inheritance and the picking up the baton of equipping Jews and Gentiles for the last harvest fields. Also we are praying for Cornerstone Community Church in Singapore and Mark who is responsible for the project on BCW site in Swansea. |

Pray that Egyptians may cry to the Lord for such time as this, so that the Lord may be known to Egypt and the Egyptians may know the Lord. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Saviour and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.(Isaiah 19:20-21) |
Iran's role is so crucial in the Middle East and beyond, so the spirit has been holding the country as a stronghold. But God has been raising Iranians inside and outside Iran for the Kingdom of God, although their Islamic leaders have been against Israel and Christians. Pray that God will send a spirit of confusion to the political and religious leaders of Iran to confound the enemy, and a spirit of clarity and boldness to Iranian Christians, releasing signs, wonders and dreams among Muslims. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria--a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." (Isaiah 19:23-25) |
