Warrior to Worshipper

(The Forge Newsletter_August_2025)

When the Arameans went out with their army, they captured a young girl from the land of Israel, who was serving Naaman’s wife. The girl said to her mistress, “Let my master go to the prophet in Samaria, and he will cure him of his leprosy.” (2 Kings 5:2-3)

1. A warrior turned into a worrier
Naaman, the commander of the army of the king of Aram, was a great and honourable man to his master, a strong warrior, and his future was secure. However, when he was discovered to have leprosy, his future was enveloped in darkness and he fell into the abyss of despair.

2. A mistress listened to her slave
But then a little Israelite girl who was serving as a slave in the house said that if they went to Samaria to see the prophet of God, he would heal them. When Naaman's wife heard this, she told Naaman, and Naaman told the king. And the king allowed Naaman to visit Israel.

3. Silence is louder than sound
How could the words of a small slave girl who was captured as a slave move her master's wife, her master, Naaman, and the king of Aram? A servant is someone who listens to her master's words, not someone who speaks to her master. However, the fact that the master listened to her servant's words shows that her life was faithful and that she had some unknown authority. It is difficult to trust someone who talks a lot and lives lightly. However, even if there is no words, if there is life and prayer, a country can be moved.

4. A warrior turned into a worshipper
Naaman, a great warrior, became a leper, listened to the words of his maidservant, went to the land of Israel, and experienced the God of Israel. Not only was he cured of his leprosy, but he returned to his country as a worshiper of the God of Israel. He went to Israel with many gifts, but the only thing God took from him was his leprosy.

5. No one can take away faith of God from my heart
That little girl lost her family, home, and everything and fell into the miserable state of slavery, but she never lost her faith in God. Her life was different from other slaves and she had something that others did not have. That is why her master trusted her words and listened to her. Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego lost their country, their families, and everything, and even their bodies were castrated, but the faith in their hearts could never be taken away. But Elisha's servant Gehazi sold his faith and received silver, gold, and clothes, and leprosy as a bonus. No one can take away the faith in my heart, but I can throw it away. (2Kings 5:26-27)

1. There is another picture behind the war between Israel and Iran
2025 07_war On June 13, 2025, at 4:00 AM, an unprecedented incident occurred in which Israel attacked Iran. This was expected, but the method and scale of the operation were beyond imagination. In response, Iran also counterattacked with ballistic missiles and drones, and Israel also suffered considerable damage. The reason Israel had no choice but to strike Iran is because the Islamic government of Iran has declared that it will wipe Israel off the map, and Iran has enriched uranium to 60%, and it is only a matter of time before it reaches 90%, which is enough for weapons. Interestingly, the name of the operation for this Iran attack is “Rising Lion,” because the lion is the symbolic animal of Iran, and when the Islamic regime came to power in Iran in 1979, the “Persian Lion” design on the Iranian flag was removed and replaced with an Islamic design symbolizing “Allah.” What was the intention behind the name “Rising Lion”? Is it the Lion of Judah rising? Or is it the Lion of Persia rising?

2. Instead of the River of Life, a Flood of Death Breaks Out
Before the war between Israel and Iran, on October 7, 2023, the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, Hamas attacked Israel under the name of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” That was the day Jesus declared that rivers of living water would flow out of our belly. (John 7:37-39) But on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, a flood of death broke out at that very place. Of course, they attacked several kibbutzim near Gaza, but they focused their attack on the “Nova” festival site, which resulted in over 1,200 casualties. At this Nova music festival, they set up Buddha statues and held a festival just like Aaron and the Israelites made a golden calf and worshipped it, dancing and singing. Every year Tel Aviv, Israel’s main city, hosts one of the largest Gay Pride festival in the world. Is there a link between the nation turning from their God and being attacked by their enemies, just like in the Old Testament days?

3. Fear God, Not Nuclear Weapons
2025 07_nuclear Israel continues to rely on the United States to strike Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran with military force. Of course, I am not against military operations to defend itself. However, if Israel does not resolve the spiritual leprosy that must be resolved, it may be making a mistake. Israel has eliminated dozens of Iranian military leaders and nine nuclear scientists and bombed hundreds of nuclear and military facilities, but it cannot stop Iran’s nuclear development. Unless Israel restores the fear of God and lives in trembling before Him, they will continue to live in fear of nuclear weapons.

4. The leprosy of the soul is more serious than the leprosy of the body
Naaman's body was rotting away due to the physical leprosy, but inside him, the spiritual leprosy of pride was ruining his life. However, because of his physical leprosy, his spiritual leprosy of pride was revealed, and when he listened to the words of the servants and humbly went into the waters of the Jordan River, his soul and body were freed from the leprosy. (2 Kings 5:13) God is not looking for brave warriors now, but for worshippers who are overcome by the leprosy of their own souls, who fear Him with fear and trembling, and who worship Him in spirit and truth. When God takes our final breath, we have no choice but to go. Those who have lost the fear of God (Netanyahu? Khomeini? Putin? Xi Jinping? Kim Jong-un? Trump? etc.) are running wild as if they were God, and will live forever.

“Why do the peoples quarrel and the kingdoms plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers conspire together against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, ‘Let us throw off their yoke and burst their bonds.’ He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision. Now therefore, O kings, act wisely; take instruction, O judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath burns suddenly. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:1-4, 10-12)

[ News Update ]

1. Ladies' Forge & Men's Forge
About two years ago, Bridget and Seungae started Ladies' Forge, mainly for women in the local area. This year was the third Ladies' Forge, and the first Men's Forge, led by Owen. One person from Korea and four from the UK attended.

2. Youth Camp SPREE and Live the Adventure with Lighthouse church
2025 07_spree From July 11th to 13th, a youth camp called "SPREE" was held by a coalition of churches in South Wales. Around 200 youth and 50 leaders attended. It was truly a blessing to see the youth vibrantly playing and worshipping. We also spent time praying with some of the parents, and it was truly a precious experience. From August 26th to 31st, there will be a week-long outreach program called "Live the Adventure" at Lighthouse Church.

3. Short-term visitors continue to visit
While there were brief visitors even during the latter stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a steady stream of visitors over the past two years, many seeking to reflect on and pray for the spiritual history of Wales. We believe God has given us the opportunity to encourage and serve them, and we sense that God's time is near and has already arrived.

4. The Mini Forge School of Faith
From Wednesday, October 15th to Sunday, October 19th, we might hold a mini Forge School in Yorkshire, England, to celebrate our friend Geof's 80th birthday and for interested locals. 4. Celebration for the Nations 2025

The Nations Revival Festival is a vision received by missionary Gail Dixon in 2004, and began in 2007. It is a multi-national intercessory worship gathering that has gathered to worship and intercede in Wales, Korea, Israel, and Japan until COVID-19. During the COVID period, we continued to meet online every month, and in the summer of 2023, we gathered again in Wales for the first time in 10 years to worship. In August 2024, we gathered in Wales, in February 2025 in Japan, and again in Wales in August of this year.

“And from there they continued to Beer; that is the well of which the LORD said to Moses, ‘Gather the people together, so that I may give them water.’ Then Israel sang this song: ‘Spring up, O well!—Sing to it.’” (Numbers 21:16-17)

[ Family News ]

1. Family Prayer & Bible Reading
Last December, we began evening family prayer meetings due to financial difficulties. We received an answer regarding our finances in March, but those prayer meetings continue to this day. Then, one day, either in April or May, Yohan asked his mum for a Bible. Since then, he's been reading the Bible on his own, from Genesis onward, morning and night. I don't know what's going on inside Yohan, but it's fascinating.

2. Noah and Qday Visit to Korea
Noah has completed two years of college (high school) and is awaiting his final exam results. He passed his theory driving test, is preparing for his practical driving test, and is attending Bible camps and retreats. On August 30th, Noah and Qday will be visiting Korea. Noah plans to stay for about a year, learning Korean, experiencing Korean culture, and working part-time. I will be there for five weeks, and during the final week, I will officiate at the wedding of a German brother and an Indian sister in India. I will then return to the UK on October 8th.

3. Homeschool Family Retreat (CHESS)
Bridget and Yohan will attend the Homeschool Family Retreat in Central Wales in the first week of September. Afterward Grandma, who lives in England, will travel to North Wales for a week-long vacation with them.

4. There's a new song given after martial law last year
On December 3, 2024, as I prayed, looking at the turmoil following martial law in South Korea and the international situation, God gave me a new song. This song describes the current reality while proclaiming the eternal God and His kingdom. (YouTube link: https://youtu.be/y98ZfHq4h3c)
